In March, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada (AITC) organizations will be celebrating Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) in classrooms across the country!
In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, we will be coordinating classroom visits with farmers and agriculture industry representatives to help students LEARN about, CONNECT to and UNDERSTAND agriculture. This is a great opportunity for students to meet the people who grow the food they are eating.

What is Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month
In 2012, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada worked collectively on the initiative to declare one week in early March as the Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week. Due to popular demand, this program has now grown to last an entire month. Agriculture will come alive in Canadian classrooms as students participate in activities to learn about, connect to and understand this important industry. Events and activities will run throughout the Month to celebrate the fact that agriculture is all around us, everyday!
